Statement released by Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County Executive Director Stephen Baiter:

“The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County congratulates Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (D, CA-11) on his appointment to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. During his time as a local and state representative, Mr. DeSaulnier was a champion for working families and continually supported programs to help job seekers find meaningful employment. As a former small business owner, he also understands the importance of helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses to create jobs and regional economic opportunity.

We are proud to have a new representative in Congress who is keenly attuned to these issues. We look forward to working with Congressman DeSaulnier as we begin implementing the recently enacted Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (July 2014) that will streamline our workforce system and promote economic development aligned with key regional industry sectors.”
